
Vian Borchert - Biography
Vian Borchert is an established expressionist artist. Borchert has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions within the US and internationally in museums and key galleries in major cities such as: Washington DC, NYC, LA, London and Berlin. Borchert's artwork has been on display in prestigious venues such as Times Square on Broadway in NYC, United Nations in NYC, The SAM museum in PA, The National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, The BMFA Museum in Texas, the historic "Arts Club of Washington DC" along with world embassies, hospitals and corporations. Coming from academia, Vian is a graduate and "Notable Alumni" from the Corcoran College of Art & Design George Washington University, Washington, DC. Borchert’s art has been vastly featured in press / interviews such as the esteemed: Museum Week Magazine, Arts & Investments, Oxford Public Philosophy Journal, 300 Luxury Magazine, ARTPIL, Influential People Magazine, The Washington Post, Metro Weekly Magazine, OFF TOWN Magazine, and on the front covers of “ROIDX”, “MOEVIR” Paris based French style magazines, and literary journals like "PENSIVE” of Boston's Northeastern University, and others. Borchert has been an art educator for over 17 years in the DMV area. Vian teaches painting and drawing art classes at the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo Park. Borchert's philosophy is guiding the students gradually into the art educational experience so they can discover their inner creative self through art learning. Moreover, Borchert also has a Web Masters degree and a certificate in art therapy, along with studies in psychology and art history. Vian has also been writing on art for many years. Borchert has served as a community convener for the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Maryland; and has juried and curated a number of group exhibitions.
